The villas did not only have an agricultural function...

Beside agricultural activities the handicrafts fulfilled a quite important place within some Gallic Roman villa's, which was the case in Malagne where a lot of information was collected regarding the manufacturing of iron, which was practised during the first centuries and especially from the IVth century onwards.
