Grape culture

Another remarkable experience at Malagne: viniculture.

A vineyard was laid out with various kinds of grape plants: Chardonnay, Merlot, Rivaner, Pinot Auxerrois, Saint-Laurent. The different techniques of leading the vines are investigated. Some of these techniques are directly related with the techniques and customs in our region during the XIXth century. Other techniques are based on methods from ancient times, such as the usage of a tree as a means of support for the vintages. Every year a party is organized to celebrate the vintage.
