Discovery Day : “A Date in the Garden” – June 7 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, June 7, discover the gardens of the Gallo-Roman Villa of Malagne during the Rendez-vous aux Jardins, organized by the association Parcs et Jardins de Wallonie.

Ancient estates such as Malagne typically included ornamental gardens and kitchen gardens. To help visitors better understand the organization and landscape of Roman estates in the Calestienne region, experimental gardens were established at Malagne as early as 1996. They consist of two distinct areas: a mosaic garden with themed beds bordered by boxwood, and a raised-bed garden serving as a vegetable garden.

The morning is devoted to a visit of the gardens, followed in the afternoon by the kitchen garden, all under the expert guidance of Jean-Luc Mulkens, agricultural engineer and initiator of the reconstruction of the ancient-inspired gardens of Malagne.

11:00 a.m.: Garden tour;
2:00 p.m.: Kitchen-garden tour.

Admission fees : Adults 10 euros – Children 8 euros – Seniors 9 euros

The gardens are open from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
